Here are the pictures from my swap package. :) I got 2 wonderful addi turbo needles, a set of 7 stitch markers, jellybeans, dark chocolate, trufles, 2 sock patterns and a sock book to learn how to knit socks on 2 circular needles, 4 balls of yarn, 2 of them are red and the other 2 (part bamboo ~ woo hoo!) all of the yarn is super soft and will knit up wonderfully into some gryffindor socks.  The hand knit bag is adorable and fuzzy.  If you notice, there isn't a picture of the dark chocolate bars because my Boyfriend (Amos Kettleburn) had already ripped into them and was enjoying them dearly. :)

Fleur Isabelle Delacour

Fleur Isabelle Delacour is a student of Beauxbatons Academy in France, and is selected as a champion in the prestigious Triwizard Tournament. Her father is a Frenchman who is unnamed but described in the books as being round and having a short black beard; her mother is a half-Veela named Apolline Delacour, from whom Fleur and her younger sister, Gabrielle, inherited their silvery-blonde hair, pale eyes, good looks, and ability to entrance men. Fleur's Veela heritage is never explicitly mentioned in the films. According to Rowling, Fleur's name comes from the French phrase fleur de la cour, meaning "flower of the court".

Fleur's attitude and style changes considerably throughout the series. Initially portrayed as a haughty, pompous student who is excessively proud of both her looks and her status, in Deathly Hallows she shows great courage, skill, and selflessness. She shows considerable protective concern for Harry after he explains to her that he has to leave Shell Cottage in order to break into Gringotts, and Harry nearly likens her to Mrs. Weasley. She and Bill have three children: Dominique, Louis and Victoire, so named because she was born on 2nd May, the anniversary of the final battle, and who is seen in the epilogue of Deathly Hallows kissing Teddy Lupin on Platform 9 3/4.

Today is Friday!! I am so excited. I am going to have a bit of a rough go from here moneywise. I have made a financial decision and won't be going to Hogsmeade any time soon. I hope everyone else gets to have fun there. I am almost finished with the bag I am making for my swap partner. I frogged the first one because it was just not turning out right. I always seem to pull too tightly on intarsia. I am happy with the one I am designing, however.

I had fun in the chat last night. It as great to see the girls, and wish others would join in.

I have to go for now, I am high maintenance and have to get ready to leave for class (aren't we all!). I am going to do my Fleur Delacour report though. She was an awesome girl, beautiful, and I heard she was quite the runner. A weasley told me that.

Snotch Hunting

Today the Golden Snitch was released. We were to start hunting it at about 3 pm my time. Well, I had gone to hogsmeade and bought a few "groceries" and got home about 3:10 pm. I threw the groceries in the floor, pulled out the perishable items and threw them in the fridge to sit down at my Muggle laptop and start hunting that dang snitch. I had visited handarbeitskram before after ordering some stitch markers from their etsy website, but never did i expect to find the "snotch" hiding in her patterns page! I was so shocked, I had to email the House Prefect to get confirmation that it was the right one! :)


I am super excited and glad that Gryffindor is going to stay in the lead in house points (I hope). Hopefully the snitch wasn't found so fast that some of the house members didn't get to post their Quidditch answers! :)

Hogsmeade

We first year Gryffindor girls visited Hogsmeade together this weekend. I had a horrible near death experience at the shrieking shack which you can read about in Ms Puddlemere's blog. I am not too happy with those girls, but forgive and forget, right?

I had fun at the Weasley's shop. Fred and George are so dreamy! I can't tell them apart, but who cares. I bought some puking pastilles in hopes of getting out of some divination classes. I also enjoyed the butterbeer served at M. Rosmerta's. That witch has a way with her ale!

I hope to get to go back soon, but I am not sure how that will work out, since Tuna, Cass & Pene were so mean to me. Maybe I'll find some new friends to go with?

I'm so excited...and I just can't hide it...

The girls gasped as they saw the little dance that was being performed along with the song. After much debate they finally decided it would be best to skat on up the stairs from the dungeon since McPotions wasn't alone. The girls scurried along the halls giggling the whole way. They couldn't keep quiet as they recapped the night's events in their heads.

The next debate was, were they going to tell their housemates? It would incriminate them something terrible, however, they would be the talk of the Gryffindor, as well as the other 3, common rooms.

"McPotions and Finch-Flirty. What an imaginitive duo! They have some energy, don't they?"

"I don't know, I think we should keep quite about this. It could get us into some serious trouble."

"But he didn't answer the door when we knocked like we were supposed to! It isn't our fault"

I know, I know, but...ok. But we can't tell everyone! Just some people we trust. Oh My gosh! 'let's get it ooooon' HA ha ha ha ha ha"

The girls giggled a bit longer next to the fireplace. They couldn't focus on their work, but they still stayed in the commonroom for some time talking and knitting. As they finally settled into their beds and the sweet calm of sleep swept over them the scenes kept sweeping through Cassandra's mind. This caused her mind to wander even further during the night and resulted in some more than interesting dreams.

As she awoke the next morning her mouth gaped and she wondered if what she was remember was a dream or was true. Of course it was a dream and she could only hope it had really happened. She couldn't wait to tell the other girls about what her imagination had dreamed up!

Detention with McPotions

As the girls walk into the potions classroom later that evening they were discussing the events that had taken place over the past few days. There were plenty of distractions and entertainment to say the least. The quidditch match was super exciting and they were all still reeling from Gryffindor finding the snitch, but the reel excitement came in spending some extra time with McPotions.

"So ladies, I don't think you will be giggling too much after you get your hands in this mess of flobberworms. You will be sorting the dead from the live and putting them into individual containers for our class tomorrow. I hope you brought your gloves, because wands will be put away for this one."

"Uuuuuuuuuugh! How gross!! Professor Blaaaaaaaack, why can't we use our wands? It would really help us learn the siftchio charm for professor M's class. Wouldn't that be more beneficial to everyone!?!"

"Ms. Puddlemere, I assure you, Professor McGonagal will not mind you having to practice your charms on your own time. Wands away. Dig in ladies!!"

Icks, Oohs, Ughs, and many other disgusted remarks were made but the girls toughed it out. Unfortunately the thought of being able to spend time with McPotions was washed down the drain when they realized he would be in his office the whole time grading papers. The girls were left to their duties and were told to knock on the office door when they were done......

.....3 1/2 hours later.....

"Oh my gosh!! I can't belive that took so long! I still have some arithmancy to do and it is already almost midnight! I am so tired I can hardly hold my head up. Lets go tell McP...I mean Professor Black that we are done."

"Wait, I think we should do something else before we go knocking on his door...."

"What kind of mischief do you have brewing in that little head of yours missy!! I have had enough of flobber worms. Next it will be the Boomslang...I do NOT WANT to have to harvest that!"

"Calm down, it isn't all that bad....let's just have a peek in his office without him knowing."

Cassandra pulls some extendable ears and a portable eye, one of the new Weasley's items, out of her bag. She slowly walks over to the office door where McPotions has been hiding for the past 3 1/2 hours and attaches the eye to the door and slides one of the extendable ears under the door.

"OH MY GOSH! Girls, you have go to see this!!!!"

Miss Mandy Finch-Fletchely approaches the dorway humming and singing a song. She is wobbling (obviously from too much butterbeer or fire whiskey). The girls under the cloak remain silent as they watch her tap on the wall to enter the bedchamber. Miss Mandy doesn't realize the door is already revealed from a previous spell (because of her intoxication). She disappears into the bedchamber still humming her song, as the girls let out a sigh of relief.

For now they're bare and full of air, dead flies and bits of fluff. Confessions of a Hogwarts Drama Queen

So while in the chat room on Thursday night, I accidentally revealed that I have been secretly seeing a dreamy boy. His name is Amos Kettleburn. He is a 3rd year. (Yep, going for those older men!) He has blue eyes, tall, sweet, and best of all he is a Gryffindor! I am so swooning for this guy. He makes me feel like the prettiest witch in school.

Ok, on with the day, On Thursday night after the chat a few of us first years snuck down to the kitchen and bribed the house elves to give us some pumpkin juice and treacle tarts. It took a lot of bribing but we promised to keep our dormitory rooms a little cleaner so they didn't have to clean up canary feathers and water quite so often. I think it was quite a bargain!

Well, I have to get ready for a party. My friend Michelle is having one today in her dorm and it is supposed to be good. She is selling some magical cooking charms!!

I have a black cat. She came to Hogwarts with me this year. She is the most interesting cat I have ever known. She has neon green/yellow eyes and can't meow. She can only make a very high squeaky noise. She wags her tail and rubs up against you.

Sometimes I think she could be an animagus. Sometimes I think she could be a dog trapped in a cat's body. Either way, she is here at Hogwarts with me, and causing some trouble. Yesterday she got into professor Snape's stash of boomslang. She had it all in her fur, so she decided to take a bath...in Mrs. Norris's drinking water. She then decided that Minerva Kwikspell's yarn looked appealing, so she turned it into a giant know with a bit of kitty fur blended in.

She had a busy day, to say the least. I hope all goes well here this semester. I hear there is another cat in the common room named Crookshanks who belongs to another first year named Hermione. I hope they get along, and don't get into too much mischief. If anyone does see her misbehaving, would you please let me know? I have to keep her under wraps. I am afraid if I don't that Mrs. Norris is going to "rat" her out (no pun intended).

Eben (My Owl) Has Arrived!

I received my swap partner today.  I am so excited about getting things gathered up.  I have to go shopping now and start knitting a very lovely bag.  I hope my swap partner likes what I am making.  I am not too creative, so I am going to get help from Petunia.  She's another Gryffindor 1st year, who is slightly more creative than me.  

I am a little concerned about my dormitory.  Last night while sleeping I swear I heard someone laughing.  Maybe there is another ghost besides Nearly Headless Nick.  

By the way, don't ask him how he got the name Nearly Headless.  He will show you.

I keep hearing all of these spooky stories about the Forbidden Forrest.  I heard some other first year Gryffindors saying they were going to sneak down there over the weekend while other kids were going to Hogsmeade.  Wouldn't it be awesome to see a Centaur?

Well, Gotta go.  Lots of homework to do!

Still Waiting

The anticipation is killing me.  I am still waiting on my assignment.  I am anxious for classes and quidditch to begin.  One of my friends bought me some new MAGICAL knitting needles.  They are being brought by owl.  Unfortunately my poor owl is old and decrepit so he may take a few extra days to find me at Hogwarts.  I hope they make it here ok.

Excitement is building

Ok, I can't stand the anticipation any more.  I am checking the site 10 times a day and changing my blog 30 times a day and .....

aaaaaaagh!  I can't wait to get started on our swap.  I am so anxious.  I am currently knitting a golden snitch washcloth for Jordyn, my nephew.  Gavin loves his Gryffindor scarf.  I love knitting things in the Hogwarts house colors.  Only 1 day until the partner assignments are made.  Woo Hoo!

I am looking forward to starting the year at Hogwarts school for witchcraft and wizardry.  I can't wait to see who my roommates are and who else made it into the house.  Also, I have some reservations due to my being muggle born.  I hope they don't all think I am a git.  Only time will tell!
